Meet Louise
Louise Solomon is a Housing Stabilization Strategist, licensed Realtor, and community advocate with an MBA and a background in Human Rights & Equity Studies and Refugee & Migration Studies.
As a former refugee and immigrant, Louise understands firsthand the challenges of navigating unfamiliar systems, securing stable housing, and overcoming barriers to opportunity. These lived experiences, combined with her professional expertise, have shaped her commitment to helping individuals, families, and communities build housing stability and long-term wellbeing.
Through partnerships with Community Health Centres, settlement agencies, nonprofits, and community-based organizations, Louise delivers housing education, housing navigation, financial literacy, and community empowerment programs that help participants better understand Ontario's housing system, access available resources, and make informed housing decisions.
Drawing on her lived experience, professional expertise, and deep understanding of the housing landscape, Louise works to bridge the gap between community services and housing access through practical, culturally responsive, and equity-focused approaches.
She believes that housing is more than a place to live. It is a foundation for health, dignity, opportunity, and belonging.
Housing Stability Is Personal to Me

Housing Stability Is Personal to Me *
I came to Canada as a refugee. Navigating the housing system as a newcomer — without the language, connections, or knowledge of how things worked — was one of the most overwhelming experiences of my life. I know what it feels like to not know where to turn.
My Professional Background
I hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and have a background in Human Rights & Equity Studies and Refugee & Migration Studies. I am also a licensed Realtor in Ontario. This unique combination of education, lived experience, and professional expertise allows me to bridge housing systems, human rights, equity, and practical housing knowledge in a way that is accessible and meaningful for the communities I serve.
Why I Do This Work
Housing is more than a place to live. It is connected to dignity, safety, health, opportunity, and belonging. When people are struggling to secure or maintain stable housing, it can impact every aspect of their lives, including their physical and mental wellbeing, financial stability, and ability to thrive.
As a former refugee and immigrant, I understand firsthand how overwhelming it can be to navigate unfamiliar systems without the right information or support. I do this work because I believe everyone deserves access to housing knowledge, resources, and opportunities that help them build stability and move forward with confidence.
My Approach
My approach is practical, trauma informed, community centred, and culturally responsive. I believe in meeting people where they are and creating supportive learning environments that are welcoming, respectful, and empowering.
Whether I am working with individuals, families, frontline staff, or community organizations, my goal is to provide practical tools, clear information, and meaningful support that help people navigate housing systems, overcome barriers, and make informed decisions that contribute to long term stability and wellbeing.
What This Means for You
Whether you are a newcomer navigating Ontario's housing system, a family experiencing housing instability, a senior looking for housing options, or an organization supporting vulnerable populations, I bring a unique combination of lived experience, professional expertise, and practical housing knowledge to every engagement.
My goal is to help individuals and families better understand their housing rights, navigate complex systems with confidence, access available resources, and build pathways toward long-term housing stability and wellbeing.
